We are happy to announce Walden Ecoversity, an alternative higher learning institute.
Namaste.
At Walden’s, time and again we go back to the fundamental questions that led us into this learning journey.
As parents and educators, we try our best to equip children with the right knowledge, skills, and dispositions that may help them become productive, responsible and look for meaning in their work and life. But we all know that none of us can predict the kind of future that awaits. So, how do we create a learning experience that prepares them for an uncertain future?
We keep redesigning learning to help children develop transferable knowledge and skills that they can apply in situations they have never encountered before. We believe that being prepared for uncertain times is the best preparation in life.
As the next step to Walden’s K-12, we are launching Walden Ecoversity in 2021. Ecoversity will be an open learning centre for young children, students, working professionals and entrepreneurs.
Ecoversity will be established on spiritual and ecological foundations. As Physicist & Ecologist, Fritjof Capra says, “Ecology and spirituality are fundamentally connected because deep ecological awareness, ultimately, is spiritual awareness.”
Programs are designed on principles of Design Thinking to help participants develop creative solutions to ecological issues. Ecoversity is not just about ecology or environment. It’s the search for purpose and meaning in our life and work.
Ecoversity will introduce ‘A Year In Nature’ program for gap year students and professionals on sabbatical. Participants can design their own program and work at their own pace. Participants will travel and gain exposure to different geographical regions, cultures and biodiversities.
Children at Walden will participate in these programs from time-to-time throughout their schooling years.
Formal academic programs will be introduced from 2025. We will be developing multidisciplinary Undergraduate and Masters and Executive programs.
We will update you as we progress. You can learn more from the Ecoversity website www.ecoversity.in / www.instagram.com/ecoversity.in / www.facebook.com/ecoversity.in.
